Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

Why Royal Central School of Speech and Drama?

Royal Central School of Speech & Drama is one of the oldest established drama schools in the UK and is a college of the University of London.

Located in Swiss Cottage in the London Borough of Camden, the university is within easy reach of theatres, bars, restaurants and art galleries.

The university offers the largest range of drama, theatre and performance-related degree programmes in Europe. Courses include puppetry, musical theatre, actor training and writing for stage and broadcast media.

Facilities include a 234-seat theatre, performance studios, music practice rooms, video-editing suites, object and puppetry studio, a sound recording studio, props and scenic construction workshop.

National and international companies provide placement opportunities for students. Many students get their first professional jobs through the contacts they have made during their studies.

International Students

The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama offers international students a one-week pre-course to make the transition easier before they start their studies.

International students receive an International Student Guide when they first join and are invited to participate in the International Student Group where they can share experiences and receive advice.

A dedicated Student Centre offers help with all aspects of student life, from counselling to managing finances. All students also have access to the Senate House Library and the historic British Library.
