My journey at the University of Westminster has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. Coming from India to pursue my dreams, I found myself immersed in a vibrant community that embraced diversity and fostered creativity at every turn.
Studying wasn’t just about lectures textbooks; it was about getting hands-on with projects that challenged me to think outside the box and diving into projects that ignited my. Whether it was brainstorming ideas with classmates or exploring the streets of London, every moment was a lesson in itself.
It wasn’t all about academics. Westminster offered so many extracurricular activities, from the architecture club to the dance society. These experiences expanded my horizons and introduced me to some of my best friends
Westminster isn’t just a university; it’s a family. The support and camaraderie I’ve found here have been my rock during the tough times and my cheerleaders during the good times.
Now, as the President of Students Union, I’m filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for everything this university has given me. Westminster has shaped me into the confident, empowered individual I am today…

Stories
As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I’m passionate about encouraging more women to join the computer science and engineering sector. Diversity is incredibly important and the industry offers so many creative career paths and growth opportunities. As a Business Information Systems (BIS) student, I’ve gained valuable knowledge and skills studying modules that include BIS Design and Architecture, Requirements Modelling and Information Technology Security. I’ve also developed my coding skills to a high level. The variety of assignments will help me to stand out in a competitive market and find a job after graduation. The support I have received while studying at the University of Westminster has been incredible. I will always be grateful to my personal tutor who helped me to develop my time management skills and career aspirations. I feel proud to be part of the Westminster community!

I feel South-East Asians are underrepresented within the film industry, and because of this, I’ve had to work harder to seek out various opportunities. Westminster has helped me move closer to making my dreams a reality through a scholarship. I’m also part of a creative community and everyone is really supportive. I’ve absolutely loved my experience so far!

Westminster is a place that feels like a community and where we’re encouraged to be ourselves. We’re constantly pushed to develop our own unique skillset and think outside the box. My advice for anyone wanting to study at Westminster is to be open to every opportunity that comes your way, work hard, make lots of memories and, most importantly, have fun.
Momina Nehmat, first-year student
I come from a low-income and minority community where it’s hard for young black males to really know the opportunities that university can offer. I had a troubled background, and it took my father losing his life to the COVID-19 virus for me to realise that I needed change. Being part of Westminster has helped me to find my community and sense of belonging, and it’s amazing studying in a place where diversity is celebrated.

I’ve found that Westminster provides students with plenty of employability support. The Careers team is there to help you improve your CV, find and secure work placements, and organise networking events for you to attend. In my first year I received a Westminster Student Academic Excellence Award, which made me feel like my hard work was being rewarded and it inspired me to continue doing so.
